Stamp n doodle - DT challenge - In The Garden

Hi Everybody. I just wanted to share some news with you. I was asked last week if I would like to join the Stamp n Doodle design team and I am over the moon to say I said yes. My FIRST challenge this week was to create a card using one of the lovely new images available for September with an In the Garden theme. I chose to use the lovely "You're Joking" little girl image and have her sitting infront of the fence in the garden. There are many times I think that my daughter has thought that when she looked at me and so this image really made me smile.

I hope that you like my card and head on over to the Stamp n doodle blog and join in with this weeks challenge. I really look forward to seeing your creations.

Football Themed Birthday card and Box

I was asked to make a Birthday card and exploding box for a customer order and I thought that I would share it with you. I used the same process as the Exploding box that is further down my blog to create the box itself and then decorated it with elements that my cricut and Silhouette Cameo cut out along with some buttons and ribbon.

I am entering this into a couple of challenges too they are the Divas by Design - Anything goes challenge. The Male room - sports and hobbies challenge penny's paper - 2 designer papers challenge and whimsy stamps - masculine challenge.

One Direction Birthday Box

This us a Birthday Explosion box I created for my daughter who turned 11 on Thursday last week. She loves One Direction so I thought that this was the perfect theme for the box. I hope that you like it as much as she and I did.

I used my Silhouette Cameo and a Lori Whitlock file for the cake in the middle of the box but created the box myself using 3 12x12" pieces of card stock and scoring at 4" on the largest box 3.5" on the middle box and 3" on the smallest. After scoring on each edge of the card stock I cut out the 4 edge squares of each piece and this created my my boxes. For the box lid I used a 6x6" piece of card and scored 1" around each side and cut out the four small notches from the corner squares to create a tab to glue the box lid together. If you need any more details how to create the box just let me know.

I am using this card as my challenge entry over at scrap creations as there challenge this week is Polka dots. I used Polka dot backing papers along with stripes for all my backing papers. I am also entering it into the anything goes challenge over at crafty sentiments designs.

Stampin' for the weekend Challenge

I have just been wandering around the Blogosphere looking for some challenges that I can take part in as I am trying to make sure that I have plenty of ideas and challenges to keep my mo-jo going. I came across this weeks challenge and also a design team call for Stampin' for the Weekend. It was my Daughters Birthday on Thursday and at the moment she is obsessed with all things Geeky. I found this Digital stamp and knew that it would be perfect for her card. The colours I used for the card also allow it to be entered into the Stampin' for the weekend challenge this week. I hope that you like it.

Shaped Cards

I love to make shaped cards using my Silhouette Cameo. I like to make cards that are at least 8x8 inches and sometimes it can be difficult to create files using only the 12x12 cutting mat. I have found that by using my Knife tool in the Silhouette software I am able to break a design apart. I then add a panel to where I have separated and I am able to make a larger card and use the panel to attach the pieces together. I have attached some pictures to show you some of the cards that I have been able to create.

I hope that you like the cards I have been able to create and maybe explore using the knife tool to create some shaped cards of your own. If you are interested I could maybe put a picture tutorial together about how to break apart and add panels to create larger cards.

Welcome to my new Blog

Hi everybody and welcome to my blog. I started blogging a couple of years ago and with one thing and another I stopped updating and sharing my creations and before long a year had passed and I hadn't updated. I decided today that I would start a fresh and try to be a little more active on my blog and keep a record of everything that happens in my day to day life whilst sharing my card making and other crafts that I create with you. I Think that I also want to try and take part in some of the many challenge blogs that are out there to maybe learn new skills and hopefully make new friends along the way. I hope that you will enjoy following my blog. x
