Hi everybody, It's the 1st of the month again and time for a new challenge over at Just for Fun Challenge blog. This months theme is Christmas. I have been making some candles for gifts for people this week and I have decided to create one for my challenge entry. I hope that you like it and come on over to the challenge blog to join in with your own creations. I am not a master at decorating candles yet but I am having lots of fun trying to get better. I found some videos on youtube by searching for decorating candles that helped me and I am sure they would help you too if you fancy trying. Anyway here is my entry for this month.

Through the Purple Haze Challenge - Encino Stamps and Something old from your stash.

Hello everybody. Here is my entry for this weeks challenge using a beautiful image from Encino Stamps. The digi image I used is Annie with flowers and I think that she is perfect for Christmas cards or Thank you cards depending on what colour you decide to make her. I used my silhouette cameo to cut out a shaped card using the lovely Ribbon bow cutout tag that is available at the Silhouette online store. This weeks challenge involved using something old from your stash and I have had the little roses on my card in a pot for a number of years so thought that I would add them for an extra touch.

If you head on over to the Through the Purple Haze challenge page you can find all the details of this weeks challenge along with the details of this weeks prize sponsored by the Lovely people over at My Mums craft shop

Here is my entry. I hope you like it.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:-

Rosette Cards

Hey Everybody. I just stopped by to share with you some Rosette cards that I have made in the last week. I used an 8" rosette design from the Silhouette Studio library and then embellished the cards to match the image that I placed in the middle of the rosette. I created a One Direction card for my Niece from her Dad and also a daughter card with a swimming theme for an order I had been asked for. I hope that you like them. I used simple ribbon flower and butterfly embellishments from my stash and some pale and bright pink card stock in my Silhouette cameo to create the Daughter and 13 on the One Direction card and the 11 on the Swimming one. The diver, goggles and swimming costume are also Silhouette files that I used the print and cut function for. I layered the diver 3 times to give it more dimension on the card. The card stock I used for these cards was from the Kraft collection from DOCRAFTS.

I am really pleased with how these cards turned out and so I am going to enter them into some challenges. I have listed them below.

CRAFTITUDE - Anything goes with the letter S - Swimming

Hi Everybody. I just wanted to share some news with you. I was asked last week if I would like to join the Stamp n Doodle design team and I am over the moon to say I said yes. My FIRST challenge this week was to create a card using one of the lovely new images available for September with an In the Garden theme. I chose to use the lovely "You're Joking" little girl image and have her sitting infront of the fence in the garden. There are many times I think that my daughter has thought that when she looked at me and so this image really made me smile.

One Direction Birthday Box

This us a Birthday Explosion box I created for my daughter who turned 11 on Thursday last week. She loves One Direction so I thought that this was the perfect theme for the box. I hope that you like it as much as she and I did.

I used my Silhouette Cameo and a Lori Whitlock file for the cake in the middle of the box but created the box myself using 3 12x12" pieces of card stock and scoring at 4" on the largest box 3.5" on the middle box and 3" on the smallest. After scoring on each edge of the card stock I cut out the 4 edge squares of each piece and this created my my boxes. For the box lid I used a 6x6" piece of card and scored 1" around each side and cut out the four small notches from the corner squares to create a tab to glue the box lid together. If you need any more details how to create the box just let me know.

I am using this card as my challenge entry over at scrap creations as there challenge this week is Polka dots. I used Polka dot backing papers along with stripes for all my backing papers. I am also entering it into the anything goes challenge over at crafty sentiments designs.

Shaped Cards

I love to make shaped cards using my Silhouette Cameo. I like to make cards that are at least 8x8 inches and sometimes it can be difficult to create files using only the 12x12 cutting mat. I have found that by using my Knife tool in the Silhouette software I am able to break a design apart. I then add a panel to where I have separated and I am able to make a larger card and use the panel to attach the pieces together. I have attached some pictures to show you some of the cards that I have been able to create.

I hope that you like the cards I have been able to create and maybe explore using the knife tool to create some shaped cards of your own. If you are interested I could maybe put a picture tutorial together about how to break apart and add panels to create larger cards.

I Think that I also want to try and take part in some of the many challenge blogs that are out there to maybe learn new skills and hopefully make new friends along the way.
